4 Kings Racing Embarking On USAC Midget Trail
PLEASANT HILL, Ohio – A new team will break into the NOS Energy Drink USAC National Midget Series this season, with 4 Kings Racing set to field two full-time teams in its first year of competition.
Founded by industry veterans Rex Turner, Fred Edwards, Matt Westfall, and Steve Bordner, 4 Kings Racing will field the No. 14 for second-year driver Jake Andreotti, while Westfall flies his familiar No. 54 on the team’s other car.
Both entries will be Stanton-powered DRC Chassis, with Westfall carrying primary sponsorship from Metalloid and Andreotti representing AccroSeal aboard his machine.
Additional sponsorship for both drivers will come from Lucky 7 Technologies.
“We are thrilled to introduce 4 Kings Racing to the motorsports community,” said Turner, the team’s spokesperson. “Our lineup of talented drivers, combined with our dedication to innovation, positions us for success in the upcoming season. We believe in fostering a culture of teamwork, resilience, and continuous improvement, and we look forward to making our mark on the track.”
Though he’ll be tackling the full USAC national midget schedule for the first time in his lengthy career, Westfall is no stranger to success in the discipline. He earned the 1998 North American Midget Auto Racing Series (NAMARS) championship and has regularly raced with USAC over the past two decades.
A winner and champion in sprint cars, modifieds and late models in addition to his midget success, Westfall was victorious last year in AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Car Series competition at Arkansas’ Texarkana 67 Speedway and is looking forward to the challenge of being a driver and co-team owner.
“I’ve embraced the challenge of not just driving a race car but steering the destiny of a team,” Westfall said. “Owning the track and the team is a dynamic dance between speed and strategy. Together, we are crafting a legacy that isn’t measured in victories, but in the resilience to push boundaries, break records and redefine what’s possible in the world of racing.
“This journey is about more than just crossing the finish line; it’s about setting a new standard of excellence.”
Andreotti was second in rookie points with the USAC National Midget Series last year, earning a best finish of second at the Belleville (Kan.) Short Track. Prior to that, he was the 2022 Don Basile Rookie of the Race at the prestigious Turkey Night Grand Prix, finishing fourth at Ventura (Calif.) Raceway that year.
The Castro Valley, Calif., driver earned two USAC Western States Midget Series wins last season, as well as a USAC West Coast Sprint Car Series victory.
Andreotti has also won races in Australia and boasts multiple premier micro sprint triumphs, including the Clay Cup, the Mark Hagopian Memorial, the High Banks Hustle (prelim) and the Showdown in Beantown as well as track championships at Delta Speedway and Lemoore Raceway.
“I am thrilled to be a part of 4 Kings Racing,” Andreotti said. “This inaugural team comes with a reputation of excellence, and I believe together, we can achieve great success on the track. It’s an exciting opportunity, and I am grateful for the chance to contribute my skills and experience to the team.”
Team co-owner Fred Edwards believes that his pair of drivers’ veteran experience will allow 4 Kings Racing to make an impact on the USAC National Midget Series relatively quickly.
“Having Matt and Jake on board is a significant boost for our team,” Edwards noted. “Their proven track record and versatility makes them ideal fits for the challenges that lie ahead. We are looking forward to a season filled with competitiveness and success.”
The NOS Energy Drink USAC National Midget Series season begins April 26-27 at Kokomo (Ind.) Speedway.
