MOBILE, Ala. – Colton Kelly took home a top-five finish from his latest Pro Truck start at Mobile Int’l Speedway on Saturday night, capping a stretch of three races in four weeks.

Kelly qualified seventh for the 30-lapper, but surged to fourth by lap seven and showed top-three pace out of his No. 18K Pave America-sponsored machine.

A caution-free race meant managing equipment, and as the run wore on, Kelly’s truck developed a loose handling condition that had him sliding the corners late in the race.

Kelly was ultimately overhauled by Keeton Harris with three laps left, but still hung on to take the checkered flag fifth and earn his third top 10 at Mobile’s half-mile oval this month.

“I feel like we showed some great pace and put ourselves in contention early,” Kelly said of his latest race. “I’m proud of our team for continuing to learn what we need to be successful in the Pro Truck division and feel like with each race, we’re getting closer to being able to contend for victories.

“We fought a loose truck in the feature, and it was a battle to hang on at the very end without any cautions to regroup,” he added. “We lost one position because of that, but to still come out with a top five shows the speed that we’re starting to build.”

Kelly would like to thank Pave America, Southern Protection Agency, Southern Drywall, Grant and John Thompson, Race Face Brand Development, and the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation for their partnership and support of his racing efforts.

The next planned Pro Truck race for Kelly Is Saturday night, Aug. 2 at Mobile, as the division takes its summer break from the track during the month of July.

He ends the month of June fourth in the Mobile Pro Truck standings, the top-ranked rookie and just 98 points back of division leader Steven Davis.
