TOPEKA, Kan. – Taegan Knowland is set to embark on the latest step in his growing racing career: a jump into the competitive Pro Truck division for next season with Kaden Honeycutt Racing.
In partnership with team owner Kirby Honeycutt – the father of Snowball Derby winner and rising NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Kaden Honeycutt – the 11-year-old native of Topeka, Kan., will tackle a full campaign of Pro Truck racing in 2026.
Knowland will participate in test days on Aug. 15 and Sept. 19 at Houston (Texas) Motorsports Park, in preparation for a full campaign, as he steps up from Bandoleros into full-bodied race cars.
The first-generation racer, who turns 12 two days after his first Pro Truck test, couldn’t be more eager for the challenge that awaits him as he continues his climb up the pavement ladder.
“I’m super excited to be moving into the Pro Trucks next year, and I’m very thankful that Kirby and everyone involved with KHR are willing to work with us on this portion of my racing journey,” said Knowland. “Every step is a big one, but this will be the biggest move yet that I’ve taken, and having the right people around me as I start to learn the heavier cars will be really important to getting up to speed as quickly as possible.
“There’s a ton of new things going into this for me, but it’s all about learning and seeing what we can build through this process and I’m ready for the challenge!”
After getting chances to see both Knowland’s energy and quick adaptation to the Bandolero cars, Kirby Honeycutt feels confident that his new driver will be able to jump into a Pro Truck and find his footing quickly.
“I’m really looking forward to starting to work with Taegan and seeing what we can build and achieve together with him,” Honeycutt said. “He’s shown a lot of promise in both quarter midgets and Bandoleros, and he’s really taken to the Bandoleros, despite not having near the amount of consistent track time that a lot of the drivers he’s racing against do. I feel that given the right foundation, Taegan will be able to work his way steadily into contention for top finishes and, eventually, victory lane.
“We know this will be a building process with him and we’re excited that Taegan and his family have chosen to take this next step on their journey with us.”
Additional updates regarding Knowland’s coming Pro Truck endeavors will be shared as they become available, following the young driver’s first test day in mid-August.
Knowland would like to thank marketing partners ATP Restoration; Thrivent Financial; Race Face Brand Development; the Friends of Jacklyn Foundation; Qdoba of Topeka, Manhattan, and Junction City; Jeremiah Bullfrogs Bar & Grille; Daredevil Coffee; Royal Signs; DC Lawn Care; and TruHeight Vitamins for their continued support of his racing efforts.
Knowland returns to action with his Race Driven Performance Bandolero on Tuesday, July 15 for round eight of 10 in the Cook Out Summer Shootout Series at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway.
