ABOUT THE CREW
Jacob Seelman is Motorsports Hotspot’s News Editor and Race Face Digital’s Director of Content, as well as a veteran of more than a decade in the racing industry as a professional, though he’s spent his entire life in the garage and pit area.
His grandfather, Bob Seelman, was an accomplished supermodified and sprint car driver in the Midwest and Northeastern United States in the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s, while his grandmother and step-grandfather – Diane and Ray DeWitt – partnered with D.K. Ulrich and U.S. Racing to form RaDiUs Motorsports in 1991, fielding the NASCAR Cup Series cars for Ted Musgrave during his rookie season and later adding NASCAR Busch (now Xfinity) Series and ARCA Menards Series entries to the RaDiUs stable, including the race-winning car that Tim Fedewa drove to victory at Nazareth (Pa.) Speedway in 1995.
Though his family’s involvement in the ownership side of the garage ended in 1998, Seelman grew up involved in Motor Racing Outreach’s youth groups and later joined his father, Brent, at the grassroots level working with various regional sprint car series through the late 2000s and early 2010s. That work culminated with public address opportunities with the United Sprint Car Series and Must See Racing, the latter of which he continues to work for presently in addition to his full-time position with Race Face Digital.
Seelman has appeared on television as a play-by-play broadcaster and color analyst for MAVTV in select short-track and sprint car capacities in recent years. His past journalistic stops include a half-decade of work building the profile of Race Chaser Media as his first major news outlet, as well as a three-year stint with SPEED SPORT Magazine and Sprint Car & Midget Magazine as a daily news reporter and editor. He earned the prestigious Media Member of the Year Award from the North American 410 Sprint Car Poll in 2020.
