Haley Secures Impressive Darlington Top 10 For RWR
DARLINGTON, S.C. - Justin Haley scored his first top 10 of the NASCAR Cup Series season with a ninth-place finish in Sunday’s Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway.
“From the moment we unloaded, [the car] was just super on the track and fast and kind of followed suit with [Brad Keselowski’s] setup,” explained Haley, whose Rick Ware Racing team has a technical alliance with RFK Racing. “It happened that he won and we had a good race.”
The Winamac, Ind. native drove with the Fraternal Order of Police aboard his No. 51 Ford Mustang Dark Horse, scoring Rick Ware Racing’s first non-superspeedway top-10 finish.
“Overall, it was a good day,” Haley added. “We had great execution on pit road. I feel like we cleaned up a lot of stuff and got a top 10 for Rick Ware. It was a good points day.”
Haley now shifts his focus to NASCAR All-Star Race weekend, where he and fellow driver Carson Hocevar have been campaigning to fans over the past few weeks for a shot at winning the fan vote and earning a spot in the main event. Haley’s campaign has featured the hashtag #HALEyeah.
The NASCAR Cup Series contests All-Star weekend at North Wilkesboro (N.C.) Speedway on Sunday, May 19.
Coverage of the All-Star Open begins at 5:30 p.m. ET on FS1, the Motor Racing Network, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio channel 90, with the All-Star Race main event following at 8 p.m. ET.
