MOBILE, Ala. – Clayton Green will return to the seat of his pro late model as racing resumes at Mobile Int’l Speedway this weekend.

Saturday evening’s show at the half-mile Alabama oval will mark the first race for the 27-year-old native of Marble Falls, Texas, since a May 31 event at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Fla., where he earned a top-10 finish in ninth.

After a two-month break in the action, Green is eager to strap back into his No. 54 and chase a victory, something that has been missing from his resume so far this season.

“I’m very excited to come back to Mobile Int’l Speedway and get back to racing again in general,” said Green. “It’s been a lull in our schedule that wasn’t necessarily planned, but it will feel good to be back in the groove of a race weekend and go after a strong result.

“Mobile is one of my favorite tracks to race at, so hopefully we can dial everything in and have some fun while we’re at it.”

Though his pro late model appearances this season have been limited, Green’s highlight race so far this year was at North Wilkesboro (N.C.) Speedway in May, when he made his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut with Roper Racing.

Beyond Saturday’s Mobile visit, Green intends to compete in at least three more pro late model events in the Gulf South during the buildup to the prestigious Snowflake 100 pro late model classic at Five Flags, held as part of the annual Snowball Derby weekend each December.

Green would like to thank Royal Vista Inc., Race Face Brand Development, and the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation for their support of his racing efforts.

About Clayton Green

Clayton Green is a 27-year-old pro late model racer from Marble Falls, Texas, with the goal of transitioning into the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, having already debuted in the Truck Series in May of 2024 at North Wilkesboro (N.C.) Speedway.

A second-generation driver who grew up watching his father race USRS trucks, Green began driving kid karts in Central Texas at six years old, quickly racking up wins before discovering Bandoleros during a trip to Texas Motor Speedway.

Following the INEX ladder system, Green progressed through both Bandolero and Legend car divisions, becoming the youngest driver at that time to win the Bandolero Outlaw National Finals, as well as numerous other track titles along the way. He was also named Driver of the Year at TMS in 2015, as voted by his peers.

Since then, Green has spent time competing in various premier pro late model events, as well as with the asphalt Modifieds of Mayhem Series, and in the former NASCAR K&N Pro Series (now the ARCA Menards Series East and West). He's a two-time top-five finisher in the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series regional point standings and also ranked fifth in the 2022 Modifieds of Mayhem championship chase. All the while, he's done so with his own family-run team.

Green achieved a long-awaited dream in May by making his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut with Texas-based Roper Racing and has eyes on contesting the full Truck Series schedule in 2025.

Through the summer and fall, Green will race selected pro late model events between Mobile (Ala.) Int'l Speedway and Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Fla., and he'll also race during Five Flags' prestigious Snowball Derby week in December.

Away from the racetrack, Green is a supporter of the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation's efforts in the fight to end pediatric cancer, as well as an avid military history buff.
