Alfredo Lands Xfinity Ride With Young’s Motorsports

MOORESVILLE, N.C. – It came together later than he would have liked, but Anthony Alfredo found his next landing spot in the NASCAR Xfinity Series on Tuesday.

Officials from Young’s Motorsports announced that Alfredo has joined the team for the full Xfinity Series season, taking the reins of the team’s No. 42 Chevrolet from previous driver Leland Honeyman Jr. as the Tyler Young-led organization enters its second year at NASCAR’s second-highest level.

DUDE Wipes and RANDCO Industries will back the Ridgefield, Conn., driver as anchor partners.

Entering his fourth full-time Xfinity Series season, the 2024 campaign was one of Alfredo’s best performances yet. He finished 15th in the series standings on the strength of two top-five and seven top-10 finishes, challenging for a playoff berth through the first half of the regular season.

Alfredo also earned a $100,000 bonus as the highest-finishing Dash 4 Cash driver at Dover (Del.) Motor Speedway last year, in his first time being eligible for the annual bonus program.

The 25-year-old moves to Young’s Motorsports from Our Motorsports, where he spent the past two years in Xfinity Series competition.

“I am very excited to join the Young’s Motorsports team this season,” Alfredo said. “I certainly respect what Tyler and his team are building.

“It’s clear they are determined to become a serious contender in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, and I look forward to being a part of that. I am grateful for the opportunity and am ready to make the most of it.”

Young’s Motorsports picked up a career-high finish of fourth at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway last April and hopes to build on their steady progression with Alfredo’s measured consistency.

“This is huge for us,” said team principal Tyler Young of signing Alfredo. “Anthony is a wheelman. The Xfinity Series competition is stout, and he absolutely has what it takes to win in this field. I am pumped we get to keep growing our Xfinity program with him this season.”

Veteran crew chief Andrew Abbott will work with Alfredo from atop the pit box. In 130 Xfinity Series races as a signal caller, Abbott has four top fives and 13 top 10s on his resume.

Alfredo will debut with Young’s Motorsports during the season-opening United Rentals 300 at Daytona (Fla.) Int’l Speedway on Saturday, Feb. 15. Broadcast coverage will air on CW Network, the Motor Racing Network, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.
