STATESVILLE, N.C. – Harrison Burton will remain a part of the Ford Performance family as he transitions back to the NASCAR Xfinity Series for the next chapter of his career.

Announced Friday morning, Burton will pilot AM Racing’s flagship Xfinity Series entry next season, returning to the level where he’s a four-time winner and made back-to-back playoff appearances in 2020 and 2021.

Burton has competed for Wood Brothers Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series since 2022 and recently picked up his first Cup Series win – as well as the 100th victory for the famed team – at Daytona (Fla.) Int’l Speedway in August.

He’s fighting for his playoff life in the Cup Series this weekend at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway, but is also eagerly looking forward to joining AM Racing next year and helping to continue the organization’s recent performance growth.

“I'm excited to join AM Racing and help build it into the race-winning race team I believe it can and will be,” said Burton. “I think this will be a great opportunity for me to take the things I’ve learned in the Cup Series, bring those to the Xfinity Series and be the best driver I can be.

“It’s a blessing to continue my NASCAR journey, and I intend to make the most of this opportunity.”

AM Racing will field Ford Mustangs again in 2025, renewing its agreements with both Roush Yates Engines and the soon-to-be rebranded Haas Factory Team, which will continue its technical alliance with the organization as it kicks off its third full season at the Xfinity Series level.

"AM Racing is proud to welcome Harrison Burton on board,” said Wade Moore, president of AM Racing. “He is a first-class individual and has already proven that he will immediately impact each team member here at AM in a positive manner. His experiences across NASCAR's National Series will position him to be a leader and a catalyst in our pursuit of Victory Lane and the goals we ultimately envision for this program.

“We are equally proud to continue our strong partnerships with Ford Performance, Roush Yates Engines and Haas Factory Team. These collaborations have been instrumental in supporting our team's growth and success, and we look forward to building upon these relationships in the upcoming season. We will continue to invest in this team, our employees and ultimately, our future.”

Additional specifics about Burton’s Xfinity Series program, including car number, sponsors and personnel, will be announced at a later date.

In 58 starts since moving to the Xfinity Series level, AM Racing has earned a best finish of fourth, which came in July of 2023 with Brett Moffitt at the Chicago (Ill.) Street Course.

The team has 11 total top-10 finishes, including two in its past 11 starts. Both of those featured two-time Cup Series champion Joey Logano at the controls. Hailie Deegan ran the first 17 races for the team this season before being released following the Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway race at the end of June.

Prior to its move into the Xfinity Series, AM Racing was a fixture in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, with 17 top-10 finishes in 138 races dating back to its inception in 2016. Its best Truck Series finish was fifth at Michigan Int’l Speedway in 2019 with driver Austin Wayne Self.

Burton’s Xfinity Series tenure with AM Racing will kick off Feb. 15, 2025, at Daytona (Fla.) Int’l Speedway with the season-opening United Rentals 300.
