Clayton Adds Four Star Freightliner As Primary Sponsor
SMITH STATION, Ala. – Jacob Clayton has added Four Star Freightliner as his new primary sponsor, supporting the team’s Pro Truck efforts with Grant Thompson Racing.
The 14-year-old has competed at the Gulf South region’s two most historic tracks – Mobile Int’l Speedway and Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Fla. – this season and has already earned one pole position, along with top-four finishes in each of his first four starts.
With momentum and confidence building, Clayton is eager to fly the Four Star Freightliner banner as he heads into a crucial summer stretch for his development behind the wheel.
“It’s a privilege to welcome Four Star Freightliner to our team and I couldn’t be more excited to have their support in my first year of Pro Truck racing,” said Clayton. “Their company roots are in Alabama and that’s something that I take a lot of pride in – being able to represent a business that helps the trucking industry and infrastructure in my home state.
“They’ve come on board right as we’re moving into a busy portion of our season and we’re looking forward to getting their name out there and, hopefully, celebrating in victory lane as well.”
Four Star Freightliner is an award-winning truck dealer headquartered in Montgomery, Ala., offering Freightliner, Western Star, and TICO brands. Four Star carries a large selection of new and used truck inventory.
For owner-operators, fleets, and other companies looking to purchase a medium-duty truck, heavy-duty truck, or yard spotter, Four Star’s sales, service, and parts departments will assist customers throughout the buying process and after the sale.
Founded in 2000 by Jerry Kocan with two locations in Montgomery and Dothan, Ala., Four Star Freightliner has grown to include seven locations in Alabama, Georgia, and Florida, and employs more than 200 people.
In addition to Montgomery and Dothan, Four Star now serves customers in Valley, Ala.; Midway, Fla.; Tifton, Fla.; Valdosta, Ga.; and Albany, Ga.
“We’re excited to join forces with Jacob Clayton and Grant Thompson Racing," said Four Star Freightliner Dealer Principal Jerry Kocan. “Jacob’s career is on the rise, and he has already shown a lot of promise this season. This is our first experience with short-track racing and we're eager to enter this new world in the same area that we support our customers daily, especially our new TICO customers.
“We look forward to cheering Jacob on as he chases checkered flags this season and continues to grow as both a racer and a young leader within his community.”
In addition to Four Star Freightliner, TICO, American National Insurance, First Choice Painting, Grant Thompson Racing, Grant and John Thompson, Midwest Suspension Co., Race Face Digital, the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation, Modern Images, JackArse Rentals, Swift Springs, and Elite Performance Industries are also partners and supporters of Clayton’s racing efforts.
Clayton’s next scheduled Pro Truck event is at Mobile Int’l Speedway on Saturday, May 25.
