Creed Inks Multi-Year Deal With Haas Factory Team

BROOKLYN, Mich. – Sheldon Creed has found what he hopes is his long-term home in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

Announced Saturday morning in a press conference at Michigan Int’l Speedway, Creed will join Haas Factory Team next season in a multi-year agreement.

The 26-year-old from Alpine, Calif., will drive the organization’s flagship No. 00 Ford Mustang, as current pilot and defending Xfinity Series champion Cole Custer steps back into the NASCAR Cup Series.

Creed will come to Haas Factory Team from Joe Gibbs Racing, where he currently drives the No. 18 Toyota and sits 69 points ahead of the cutoff line to make the Xfinity Series playoffs. He’s seeking his second straight postseason berth after finishing seventh in points last year.

“I’ve won in every division I’ve raced in, and I feel like I’ve earned my place in the Xfinity Series, but that’s not enough. I want to win in the Xfinity Series,” said Creed, who will be joined by new teammate Sam Mayer next year. “I watched what Cole Custer did last year on his way to the Xfinity Series championship and when I talked with him about the setup of the organization, everything he said resonated with me.

“I feel like Haas Factory Team is a place where I can succeed, and where Sam and I can work together to win races and be championship contenders.”

A veteran now in his third full season of Xfinity Series competition, Creed has earned a record-tying 10 runner-up finishes in his ongoing quest to capture his first career win, sharing the mark with NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Jarrett and 2021 series champion Daniel Hemric.

Prior to stepping into the Xfinity Series, Creed won eight races in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, including a five-win season that culminated in the 2020 Truck Series championship.

Team president Joe Custer is eager to add a pair of drivers with the credentials that both Creed and Mayer have into the fold as the team transitions from Stewart-Haas Racing to Haas Factory Team at the conclusion of the season.

“We’ve developed a strong and consistent Xfinity Series program at Stewart-Haas that wins races and championships. In 2025, that program will operate as Haas Factory Team. The name is changing, but our commitment to winning remains the same,” said Joe Custer.

“Sheldon Creed and Sam Mayer have won championships on their way to the Xfinity Series and they’re both hungry to win races and compete for an Xfinity Series title. They bring significant experience and a shared desire to win. Having them [be] a part of Haas Factory Team allows us to operate at a high level and collect trophies.”

Crew chief and sponsor information for Creed will be announced at a later date.

The 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series season, and Creed’s tenure with Haas Factory Team, will begin Saturday, Feb. 15 with the traditional points opener at Daytona (Fla.) Int’l Speedway.
