Deal Set For Rookie Season With ASCS National Tour
CONCORD, N.C. – After years of making various starts with the American Sprint Car Series, Andrew Deal is joining the National Tour full-time for his rookie season this year.
The Caney, Kan., resident enters with more than 20 years of experience behind the wheel and eight previous starts in ASCS National Tour competition – scoring a career-best finish of fifth last year.
“I wanted to spend some time with my dad and go have some fun doing what we love together,” Deal said about joining the tour full-time. “Life is short, and my girls will be starting their own activities soon, so time is limited. I have also been blessed with extremely good help at my tire shop, and I trust them to do a great job while I'm gone.”
Deal began racing at 13 years old before choosing to focus on school and sports. Returning behind the wheel at 18, he began racing Micros at Port City Raceway and Will Rogers Raceway.
Year to year, he's gathered one accolade after the other, picking up a Tulsa Shootout win in 2011, an Oil Capital Racing Series championship in 2014, an A-Main start in the Chili Bowl Nationals in 2015, and most recently, banking $12,222 at the Iron Man 55 at Creek County Speedway last year.
Piloting his own Victory Chrysler, Dodge, Ram, and Jeep of Ottawa No. 15d Sprint Car, Deal is already off to a strong start this racing season. He’s earned four top fives in five feature starts, including a third-place finish with the ASCS Sooner Region on March 23.
“This year, I just want to represent my savior, my sponsors, and those who have supported me along my career in a positive way and be competitive each night,” Deal said. “That's my goal.”
