FORT WORTH, Texas – Both Chase Elliott and Daniel Hemric will “go for gold” with gold on their race cars during NASCAR action at Texas Motor Speedway.

Elliott and Hemric will trade in their normal looks for commemorative gold paint schemes this weekend that honor NAPA’s 100th anniversary since the company’s founding on May 4, 1925.

Hemric will race Friday night in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series during the SpeedyCash.com 250, chasing his second win of the year, while Elliott returns to Texas for Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Wurth 400 presented by LIQUI MOLY hoping to defend his Lone Star State victory from a year ago.

In addition to Elliott and Hemric, fellow NAPA-sponsored drivers Ron Capps (NHRA) and Brad Sweet (High Limit sprint cars) have also donned matching gold schemes to honor the centennial milestone.

“I’ve said all along that it is an honor for me to drive for NAPA, especially in their 100th anniversary,” Hemric said. “It’s really cool to join the other three NAPA teams with matching schemes, and hopefully a couple of us can get to victory lane with them."

The NAPA 100th anniversary color scheme carries a champagne gold base featuring a gilded look, complete with NAPA’s special 100-year logo and matching driver firesuits, celebrating NAPA’s long legacy in both business and racing.

Capps debuted the ‘NAPA 100’ gold look on his Toyota GR Supra Funny Car during last weekend’s American Rebel Light NHRA 4-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway in Concord, where he raced to a runner-up finish behind defending NHRA Funny Car champion Austin Prock.

“I don’t think very many people can say that they have had the opportunity to celebrate 100 years of anything, let alone an organization that means so much to them,” said Capps, who has had NAPA as his primary partner since 2008. “I’ve been fortunate enough to represent NAPA Auto Parts and NAPA Auto Care for more than 18 years now, and they’ve been in my corner through all three of our championships and more than 50 race wins.

“To be able to not only help celebrate 100 years like we are this year, but getting to run the special NAPA 100 car, and to have been the first one to do so – especially at the Charlotte four-wides, was incredible.”

Prior to the weekend’s NASCAR action, Sweet will roll out his special gold No. 49 for Kasey Kahne Racing during the Kubota High Limit Racing Stockyard Stampede opener at The Dirt Track at TMS on Thursday night, May 1. The High Limit sprint cars also race at the Texas dirt track Saturday night, May 3.

NAPA has backed Elliott in NASCAR competition since 2014, when Elliott first raced to an Xfinity Series championship with JR Motorsports, and he added a Cup Series crown with the brand in 2020 as well.

Hemric is in his first season working with NAPA at McAnally-Hilgemann Racing, but the iconic auto parts retailer has been in motorsports for decades, including 35 years with MHR co-owner Bill McAnally.

“We’ve been involved in a lot of great events and milestones over the years, but to be a part of NAPA’s 100th anniversary is extra special,” McAnally said. “To be a part of this program for over 35 years is humbling, and this paint scheme is a celebration and testament to the many talented and innovative people who have been a part of the NAPA Network.”

Broadcast coverage of the Truck Series SpeedyCash.com 250 airs Friday, May 2 at 8 p.m. ET, live on FS1, the NASCAR Racing Network, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.

It will be Hemric’s fifth Truck Series start at the 1.5-mile Fort Worth quad-oval.

The Cup Series Wurth 400 presented by LIQUI MOLY takes center stage Sunday, May 4 at 3:30 p.m. ET, live on FS1, the Performance Racing Network, and SiriusXM channel 90. Elliott’s 2024 win at Texas marked his first triumph there in 14 appearances.
