Friday’s North Florida Winternationals Slate Washed Out
LAKE CITY, Fla. – Due to heavy rainfall received overnight, combined with overcast skies and misty conditions throughout the morning, North Florida Speedway and DIRTcar Racing officials have canceled Friday’s portion of the North Florida Winternationals.
The decision comes with the intention of providing the drivers with the best racetrack possible and bringing an entertaining racing program to the fans.
Saturday’s portion of the event will still take place as scheduled, including a full program for the DIRTcar UMP Modifieds, which is now a $2,500-to-win race.
Box Stocks, Crown Vics, Thunderstocks & Pure Stock, Street Stocks, and 602 Late Models will also be in action. Pit gates will open Saturday at 1 p.m., while hot laps are set for 4 p.m.
UMP Modified Florida Speedweeks continues after North Florida with a full week of racing at East Bay Raceway Park in the final edition of its annual Winternationals event, Jan. 29-Feb. 3.
After that, the UMP Modified field will make the trip to Volusia Speedway Park for the 53rd Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals, racing for six straight nights from Feb. 5-10.
