Gray Extends USCS Legacy With 16th National Title
ATLANTA – National Sprint Car Hall of Fame Class of 2022 inductee Terry Gray added to his massive résumé by capturing his 16th USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour national championship during the series’ 28th season.
Gray, a Bartlett, Tenn., native, has competed regularly with the United Sprint Car Series since 2001 and has only missed four events during his USCS career. He earned two wins, 23 top five, and 34 top 10 finishes en route to this year’s title.
Gray’s pair of wins elevated his career total to 98 with the series, second all-time behind past USCS titlist Kenny Adams’ 100 victories.
Gray, who has nearly 50 USCS national and regional series crowns on both asphalt and dirt surfaces as a driver and a car owner, finished the year as the champion of both the USCS Mid-South Thunder Tour regional series and the USCS Southern Thunder regional series.
As a car owner this year, he had one other victory with teammate Morgan Turpen-Havener in his No. 10m car at Hattiesburg (Miss.) Speedway.
