RICHMOND, Va. – Niece Motorsports, a decade-long mainstay in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series garage, announced a new ownership structure for the organization Friday at Richmond Raceway.

DQS Solutions & Staffing CEO Josh Morris, along with J.F. Electric CEO Greg Fowler and the Fowler family, become the majority owners of the Al Niece-founded team as Niece takes a step back from the business side going forward.

The team will continue to operate under the established Niece Motorsports name, signifying Niece’s legacy in building the squad from the ground up and his continued passion for motorsports.

“This partnership is a continuation of the momentum we’ve built over the last several seasons,” said team founder Al Niece. “I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished. This change allows me to return to the heart of why I got into racing – the passion and excitement of competition – while entrusting the business to partners who believe in our team and our people.”

Included in the ownership transition are several elevated leadership roles for key individuals.

Current Niece Motorsports general manager Cody Efaw has been named President and CEO, with Amanda Efaw becoming Chief Marketing Officer in promotions that build on the leadership the Efaw family has already brought to Niece Motorsports’ operations over the years.

Crew chief Phil Gould, the longest-tenured and winningest signal-caller in the team’s history, becomes Director of Competition as well as retaining his role atop the pit box going forward.

In his new role, Gould will oversee the performance and coordination of all of Niece Motorsports’ race teams, ensuring engineering, setup, and executional consistency throughout the company.

Morris’ DQS Solutions & Staffing already provides HR and accounting support for Niece Motorsports among its back-office efficiencies, but his increased investment in the team provides extra stability and new opportunities as the group looks to strengthen their footprint in the Truck Series garage.

“Our investment in Niece Motorsports is about growth,” said Morris. “We believe in this team, its people and its future. From pit crews to hospitality to content creation, we’re building a racing organization that delivers both on the track and in the boardroom.”

“Racing is in our DNA,” added J.F. Electric’s Fowler. “We’ve proudly supported Niece Motorsports as a sponsor, and we’re ready to help fuel this next chapter as owners. The foundation is strong, and the possibilities ahead are even stronger.”

Since debuting in 2016, Niece Motorsports has built its reputation as one of the blue-collar and gritty organizations in the Truck Series garage.

Niece entries have won nine Truck Series races and earned 120 top-10 finishes in 576 starts, with now-Cup Series stars Ross Chastain (five) and Carson Hocevar (four) contributing to the victory total.

As the team looks ahead, their goal is to remain true to the philosophies and

“This isn’t about changing who we are; It’s about expanding on what we’ve built,” said Cody Efaw, new President & CEO. “We’ve got a team-first culture and a passion to win. With Josh and the Fowlers’ support, we’re doubling down on our strengths.

“None of this would be possible without Al. He laid the foundation for where we are today, and because of his tireless work, lots of great people have joined us along the way,” Efaw added, speaking during a Friday afternoon media availability at Richmond. “This move allows All to step away from the day-to-day ownership, financial requirements, and stress of those things, and still be a part of the team and the family he’s built here.

“We still want him at the racetrack, we still want him involved with what we do, and from the outset that’s something that was important to everyone that’s a part of this next era for us as a team.”

And, for anyone curious, Efaw affirmed that Chastain will still be part of Niece Motorsports going forward as it writes a new chapter to the company story.

“Yes,” Efaw laughed when Chastain crashed the press conference by asking if he still had a job.

“Ross always tells me when he’s done with everything he’s going to accomplish in Cup [Series competition] to make sure that I keep the lights on so he can come back and do this [race regularly in the Truck Series],” continued Efaw. “It’s something that I want to make happen, because without his spark in the beginning of our rise and Al’s leadership, we wouldn’t be sitting here right now.”

Niece Motorsports will field four Truck Series entries for “most of the rest of the season,” according to Efaw, and will likely remain a three-truck operation heading into the 2026 campaign.
