CONCORD, N.C. – Rev Racing’s Andres Perez narrowly edged Gus Dean for the General Tire Pole Award Friday afternoon during ARCA Menards Series qualifying at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Behind the wheel of the No. 2 Max Siegel Inc. Chevrolet, Perez turned a lap of 30.340 seconds (177.983 mph) to earn his second career ARCA pole and first of the season.

Perez’s last ARCA national pole was Aug. 4, 2023, at Michigan Int’l Speedway.

“Super happy about the pole here,” Perez told Motorsports Hotspot after qualifying. “I’m not surprised at all [about qualifying first] because in practice, we focused on race trim, and we weren’t too worried about getting that very fast qualifying test run.

“The car was just perfect for qualifying. It was a great lap,” he added. “We’ve been working hard, basically all month since Kansas trying to find this speed. We know the race is important, so we’ll try to enjoy this next couple [of] hours and then focus on the race.”

Though he’s no longer a rookie on the ARCA platform, Perez believes there will still be plenty of challenges when it comes to Friday night’s General Tire 150.

“Just being consistent will be tough,” Perez explained. “[Charlotte] is definitely a tough track to stay on it every lap, so that comes down a lot to me trying to hit my marks and staying away from trouble, too.”

Dean will join Perez on the front row after a lap of 30.342 seconds (177.971 mph) in the No. 55 DRIVEN Trackside Toyota for Venturini Motorsports.

Joe Gibbs Racing’s Tanner Gray starts third alongside Dean’s teammate Kris Wright, with the Pinnacle Racing Group duo of Carson Kvapil and Connor Mosack sharing row three in fifth and sixth.

Lavar Scott, Amber Balcaen, Andy Jankowiak, and Will Kimmel closed the top 10 qualifiers.

Notables deeper in the field include Dean Thompson (11th), Toni Breidinger (12th), Christian Rose (14th), and past Hickory (N.C.) Motor Speedway track champion Austin McDaniel (24th).

Broadcast coverage of the ARCA General Tire 150 at Charlotte Motor Speedway is slated for 6 p.m. ET, live on FS1 and selected Motor Racing Network affiliates, as well at https://arcaracing.com.
