MEXICO CITY – Andrés Pérez de Lara has been tapped to pilot DGM Racing’s No. 91 entry for his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut in the tour’s return to Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.

Pérez de Lara’s sponsor for the Chilango 150 will be wireless telecommunications company Telcel, the same brand that currently supports him in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

This will be Pérez de Lara’s first start in the Xfinity Series, and he is making it right at home at the 2.429-mile, 15-turn Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, a track that he grew up racing on in his youth in the NASCAR Mexico Series.

The 20-year-old from Mexico City currently sits 19th in the Truck Series point standings, where he runs full-time and is competing for Sunoco rookie-of-the-year honors.

Pérez de Lara is no stranger to success in stock cars, landing himself last year’s ARCA Menards Series national championship, and grabbing one top 10 and seven top 20s so far in his maiden Truck Series season.

Owned by former racer Mario Gosselin, DGM entered NASCAR in 2008 when their No. 12 entry joined the Truck Series, and made the jump up to the NASCAR Nationwide Series (now Xfinity Series) in 2013, attempting to qualify for the fall Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway event.

They would ultimately fail to qualify at Bristol, but later made their race debut at the Xfinity Series level in 2014 at Arizona’s Phoenix Raceway before making four other starts that season as well.

Altogether, DGM owns three top-five and 43 top-10 finishes in 674 combined Xfinity Series starts, with a career-best of fourth thrice, most recently in 2023 at Watkins Glen (N.Y.) Int’l by Ross Chastain.

Currently, DGM fields two full-time entries to the NASCAR Xfinity Series. The No. 71, a new number for them, is piloted by Ryan Ellis this season. The No. 91 features an array of drivers, which Pérez de Lara will join when he straps in for the Mexico City race.

They also field the No. 92, a part-time entry, which has been driven by C.J. McLaughlin twice this year.

Ellis, DGM’s lone full-time driver, sits 25th in the Xfinity Series point standings through 13 races.

Broadcast coverage of the Chilango 150 at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez is scheduled for Saturday, June 14 at 4:30 p.m., live on The CW, the Motor Racing Network, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.
