CENTERVILLE, Tenn. – Rackley W.A.R. will have a new driver in the No. 25 Chevrolet Silverado RST for the balance of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season.

Eighteen-year-old Dawson Sutton will transition his focus from pro late model and super late model racing to the NASCAR national series level, becoming the primary driver for Rackley W.A.R. in the Truck Series starting with Friday night’s Kubota Tractor 200 at Kansas Speedway.

A native of Lebanon, Tenn., Sutton is expected to contest the final five Truck Series races of the season in preparation for a potential full-time opportunity in the future.

He has already made two starts this year, at North Wilkesboro (N.C.) Speedway on May 18 and his home track of Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway on June 28, in a second entry – the No. 26 – for Rackley W.A.R.

Sutton’s best finish of those two races was 18th at Nashville.

Dillon will remain with Rackley W.A.R. for the balance of the year as a driver coach for Sutton, while also focusing on his own racing plans for 2025 and beyond. The decision to swap roles was mutually agreed upon by Rackley W.A.R. and Dillon.

“We are super-thankful for the job Ty has done for us this year as our primary driver,” said team co-owner and crew chief Willie Allen. “We appreciate his willingness to take on an additional role and help Dawson grow and develop as a young driver for the remainder of the NASCAR Truck Series season.

“We look forward to Ty’s continued valuable input and support in the ongoing development of our race program.”

Under the guidance of crew chief Shane Wilson, Dillon has struggled in his full-time return to the Truck Series, with just two top 10s in 18 races. His season-best mark was ninth at both Darlington (S.C.) Raceway in May and Richmond (Va.) Raceway in August.

Dillon previously won three Truck Series races with Richard Childress Racing, his grandfather’s eponymous organization, and finished runner-up in the point standings in 2013 – his last full season in the series prior to this year.

An announcement regarding Rackley W.A.R.’s driver plans for the 2025 Truck Series season will be made at a later date.

Sutton will debut behind the wheel of the No. 25 during the Kubota Tractor 200 at Kansas Speedway, with broadcast coverage slated for Sept. 27 at 8:30 p.m. ET live on FS1, the Motor Racing Network, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.
