Sheldon Creed Charges Forward for Top-Five Pocono Finish
Sheldon Creed turned in another strong performance Saturday at Pocono Raceway, charging from a 16th-place starting spot to finish fifth in the MillerTech Battery 250 presented by KOA and keep the No. 00 Haas Factory Team VieLight Chevrolet in the mix all afternoon.
Creed showed steady speed from the drop of the green flag, working his way into the top 10 early and finishing Stage 1 in sixth. He stayed in the fight throughout the middle portion of the race and crossed Stage 2 in 11th, keeping himself in position for a late push when the race tightened up over the closing laps.
As the battle for the win intensified near the end, Creed had worked his way into the middle of the front-running group and was part of the decisive late restart that shaped the final outcome. When the checkered flag flew, he brought the No. 00 home in fifth, completing an 11-position gain from where he started and adding another solid result to an already strong 2026 season.
The Pocono finish was another reminder of the consistency Creed and the Haas Factory Team have shown this year. On a track that demands patience, restarts, and execution, the No. 00 team put itself in position and left with a result that keeps momentum moving in the right direction. Creed also remains fourth in the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series championship standings heading into next weekend.
Now the focus shifts west, and for Creed there is extra meaning in what comes next. The California native will head home for the next race super excited to compete back in his home state when the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series visits Naval Base Coronado for the first time.
The June 19-21, 2026 event at Naval Base Coronado will mark NASCAR's first race weekend on the 3.4-mile, 16-turn course set on an island in San Diego, California. It will be one of the most unique stops of the season and another major opportunity for Creed and the No. 00 team to build on their momentum.
