Anthony Alfredo Delivers Sixth-Place Finish at Pocono
Anthony Alfredo turned a fast weekend into one of his strongest results of the 2026 season Saturday at Pocono Raceway, driving the No. 96 Big Rack Spirits Chevrolet to a sixth-place finish in the MillerTech Battery 250 presented by KOA.
Alfredo and Viking Motorsports showed speed before the race even began, ending final practice third on the overall chart. That early pace carried into the race, where Alfredo rolled off 12th and methodically worked his way forward through one of the most chaotic NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series races of the season.
With 10 cautions slowing the event for 39 laps, Pocono rewarded teams that stayed composed and executed under changing circumstances. Alfredo's group did exactly that. While others lost track position or got caught up in the race's repeated disruptions, Alfredo stayed in the mix and closed the afternoon with a top-six finish that reflected both speed and race management.
"Felt great to have a fast car and race up front all day," Alfredo said. "Executing like that is what it'll take for us to get where we want to be. Definitely a great momentum builder. It was also nice to have such a strong showing for Big Rack Spirits at their home race in Pennsylvania. Excited for the wild card in San Diego next week!"
Official results placed Alfredo sixth at the checkered flag, giving him another impressive run for a team that continues to punch above its weight. Viking Motorsports may be a smaller two-car operation, but what the organization is accomplishing against much larger and more established teams continues to turn heads. With its growing program and technical alliance with Richard Childress Racing, the No. 96 team is proving it can consistently compete well beyond the expectations that typically come with a young organization.
The strong finish also reinforced what the team showed throughout the weekend. The speed was real, the execution matched it, and the result reflected the level of performance the No. 96 group has been building toward all season. As the schedule shifts west, Alfredo and Viking Motorsports carry valuable momentum into next weekend's event at Naval Base Coronado.
The San Diego race weekend will mark NASCAR's first-ever visit to the active military installation, creating one of the most unique road-course challenges on the 2026 schedule. For Alfredo and the No. 96 team, Pocono provided another reminder that they have the speed and capability to contend whenever execution meets opportunity.
