Alfredo Charges to Top-Five Finish at EchoPark Speedway
HAMPTON, Ga. (July 12, 2026) – Anthony Alfredo and the No. 96 Viking Motorsports Chevrolet team capitalized on a wild night of racing Saturday at EchoPark Speedway in Atlanta, GA, earning a hard-fought fifth-place finish in the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series Focused Health 250.
Alfredo started 17th and methodically worked his way through the field, keeping the Buddy's-backed Viking Motorsports Chevrolet in contention throughout a race defined by attrition, strategy, and a frantic double-overtime finish. While he did not score stage points in either Stage 1 or Stage 2, Alfredo avoided the late-race incidents that eliminated many of the race's top contenders, positioning himself for one of his strongest finishes of the 2026 season.
The top-five effort earned Alfredo 32 championship points and moved him to 423 points on the season, placing him 16th in the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series standings following Race 21 of 33. With only three races remaining before the Chase field is finalized, the Atlanta performance provides valuable momentum as the No. 96 team looks to close out the regular season on a high note.
In a race that featured four red flags, 13 caution periods, and multiple overtime restarts, Alfredo's patience, consistency, and clean execution paid dividends. The result marked another positive step forward for Viking Motorsports as the team continues to build momentum during the second half of the season.
The NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series now takes an off weekend before returning to action Saturday, July 25, at the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The regular season concludes with races at Iowa Speedway and Daytona International Speedway before the Chase begins.
