Cook/MMI Team Sets ARCA & Modified Plans
MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Motorsports industry veteran Bruce Cook will have a busy season across three different disciplines, headlined by a return to the ARCA Menards Series platform.
Cook Racing Technologies, alongside longtime team partner MMI Racing, will be back in ARCA competition for 11 races this year after securing the ARCA Menards Series West owner’s championship last season.
Standout young gun Tanner Reif will wheel the team’s No. 42 Chevrolet in eight races, starting with the ARCA Menards Series West season opener at Arizona’s Phoenix Raceway in February.
When Reif is not behind the wheel, NASCAR Xfinity Series veteran Brandon Jones will pilot the Cook Racing Technologies entry. Racing full time for JR Motorsports again this season, Jones will drive in the remaining three ARCA races on CRT’s calendar, all companion weekends with the Xfinity Series.
In a new partnership with Spencer Davis, Cook will also return to the discipline that launched his career in motorsports, the modified division.
Davis and Cook will co-own the No. 42 modified, contesting select races in NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, open, and southern modified competition.
Davis, who has competed part time in modifieds over the past decade, will also drive the entry.
Finally, Trayc Walker Scott will make his debut with CRT by racing in select limited late model events.
A Colorado native, Scott was a dominant force in Legend cars last year and will add to his resume by running select races in CRT’s No. 42 limited late model. Scott’s primary focus will be another year of Legend car competition.
“This year is going to be a big year for CRT,” noted Cook. “I am excited to get back to my roots with the modifieds and Spencer, as well as working with both Trayc and Tanner in ARCA and late models.
“We had a great year in 2023, winning the ARCA West championship, and I am looking forward to seeing what this group of drivers can do on track this year.”
Sun West Construction will return alongside MMI Racing as a major team partner for Cook Racing Technologies this season. The familiar orange and black colors will adorn all three different race cars.
