Hockman Enthusiastic For Upcoming Trio Of Micro Starts

Case Hockman will run three upcoming micro sprint races prior to Memorial Day weekend.
APOLLO BEACH, Fla. – After being idle since his Smiley’s Racing Products Tulsa Shootout run back in January, micro sprint young gun Case Hockman is eager to get his 2025 season back going, with a trio of late-spring races next up for the 12-year-old.
Hockman will return to the track next on April 12 at North Carolina’s Millbridge Speedway, where he’ll compete in a Saturday Series race at the sixth-mile dirt oval in his No. 17a Restricted 600cc micro sprint.
He’ll follow that up with another Saturday appearance at Millbridge on May 3, before he and Austin Barnhill’s AB Enterprises team head west to historic Port City Raceway in Tulsa, Okla., for the 14th annual Donnie Ray Crawford Memorial, May 15-17.
It will be a much-anticipated return to racing form for Hockman, who wants to continue his momentum from the Tulsa Shootout after a B-main appearance in the Restricted ‘A’ Class division on finale Saturday.
Hockman ran eighth in the fifth B-main for his class at Tulsa Expo Raceway. The Restricted ‘A’ Class field featured 170 entries at the Shootout, and just making it to a race on the final day of that week gives Hockman confidence that he can compete against high-level fields on a regular basis.
“For our first Tulsa Shootout appearance to go all the way to Saturday, that was huge for me,” Hockman said. “I don’t have nearly as much seat time in a micro in general as a lot of the heavy hitters do, and to be able to race against them allowed me to learn a lot and understand what it takes to race against those drivers and the skills I need to stay toward the front of the field.
“It’s been a long few months not being in the car since then, and I’ve been trying to stay busy, but I’m just really ready to get back behind the wheel,” he added. “I hate it’s another month until Millbridge, because I’d be ready to go if it was tomorrow! We’ll be ready though, and looking for a great run for myself, Austin (Barnhill), and all our partners.”
Hockman would like to thank APR Auto Group, Central Florida Transport, Bryce Comer Racing, Ambassador Racing School, Rack City Ribz, Miss Marie, Velocita USA, Race Face Brand Development, and the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation for their partnership and support of his racing endeavors.
Both Millbridge Speedway events will be streamed live on DIRTvision, while Port City’s Donnie Ray Crawford Memorial airs on Start2Finish TV.
About Case Hockman
Case Hockman is a 12-year-old racer from Apollo Beach, Fla., who aspires to reach the top levels of NASCAR and currently competes in both INEX-sanctioned Bandolero cars on pavement and on dirt in 600cc micro sprints and Jr Sprints.
Hockman’s need for speed started at a young age. At just three years old, his father Richard had him behind the wheel of a go-kart, laying the foundation for his future as a driver.
By the age of four, Hockman tackled his first race. Inspired by his father’s racing career, the younger Hockman quickly became determined to take the wheel and pursue his own passion for speed.
After cutting his teeth and honing his skills in the karting world, Hockman moved to Bandoleros and Jr Sprints, transitioning between dirt and pavement and building toward a planned debut in the Spec Late Model class at California’s Irwindale Speedway in 2025.
When not behind the wheel or at a racetrack, Hockman enjoys playing soccer, flag football and racing RC cars. He is also a supporter of the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation’s efforts to better the quality of life for children battling pediatric cancer.
