SONOMA, Calif. — In NASCAR, success is often measured by the size of your budget. Saturday at Sonoma Raceway, Anthony Alfredo and Viking Motorsports proved heart, preparation, and determination can still level the playing field.

Competing against powerhouse organizations with significantly larger resources, Alfredo delivered one of the strongest performances of his NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series career, driving the No. 96 Dude Wipes Chevrolet to a fourth-place finish while giving Viking Motorsports one of the biggest days in team history.

From the moment the weekend began, the No. 96 Chevrolet had the speed to compete with the sport's elite.

Alfredo qualified fourth, captured his first career NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series stage victory by winning Stage One, and spent the afternoon racing inside the top five on one of the most demanding road courses in the country. Throughout the 79-lap event, the No. 96 consistently challenged organizations with far greater resources, refusing to back down as strategy and restarts shuffled the field.

By the time the checkered flag waved, Alfredo crossed the finish line fourth—his first top-five finish since Michigan in 2024—but the result represented far more than a number on the scoring pylon.

"We had a shot to win, and I'm proud of that," Alfredo said afterward. "Our Dude Wipes Chevrolet was fast all day. To earn our first stage win and come away with a top-five finish says a lot about this Viking Motorsports team and the direction we're headed."

The afternoon became a landmark moment for Viking Motorsports.

Not only did Alfredo earn the team's first stage victory, teammate Parker Retzlaff followed him across the finish line in fifth, giving the organization its first-ever double top-five finish in NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series competition.

For a team still building its foundation, the Sonoma results validated countless hours of work behind the scenes.

While larger organizations benefit from deeper engineering departments, bigger budgets, and extensive personnel, Viking Motorsports has steadily earned respect by maximizing every opportunity. Week after week, the organization continues closing the gap, proving that preparation, teamwork, and determination can compete with some of the biggest names in the NASCAR garage.

"This top five has been a long time coming," Alfredo said. "Nobody on this team ever stopped believing. Everyone continues to work incredibly hard, and this weekend was a great example of what we're capable of accomplishing together."

The fourth-place finish continues Alfredo's recent momentum while reinforcing his reputation as one of NASCAR's most respected competitors.
