Sunoco Extends Support Of Lucas Late Models
BATAVIA, Ohio – Sunoco Race Fuels has inked a multi-year extension with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series that will see the industry provider of high-performance racing fuels extend its support of the national dirt late model tour.
Sunoco will continue its partnership as the Official Fuel of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series through 2026.
As the Official Fuel of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, Sunoco will continue to offer several incentives for racers that follow the national tour – including the Sunoco Road to Wheatland loyalty program.
The Sunoco Road to Wheatland program will award a cash bonus to the top 15 drivers in the championship point standings, with perfect attendance, at the Show-Me 100 in May.
Sunoco will once again reward drivers who exclusively use Sunoco Race Fuels under the Race for Gas program. Any driver utilizing only Sunoco Race Fuels will be eligible for cash awards at the year-end Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series awards banquet.
The driver that finishes the highest in series points using only Sunoco Race Fuels will be crowned the Sunoco Race for Gas Champion and receive a $3,000 cash bonus. Second-place in the Sunoco Race for Gas standings will earn a $2,000 cash bonus, while third place receives $1,000.
Sunoco Race Fuels also remains the title sponsor of the North/South 100 weekend, held annually in August at Florence Speedway in Union, Ky. The event has grown into a crown-jewel event on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series calendar.
The Sunoco Race Fuels North/South 100 will pay $75,000 to win and will have an increase in the total purse of more than $30,000 this year.
“Sunoco Race Fuels is proud to extend for another three years and enter our 19th year in partnership with Lucas Oil and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series,” said Ritchie Lewis, the Partnership Sales Manager for Sunoco Race Fuels. “Lucas Oil’s professionalism and innovation has led the way in support of participating drivers and providing our fans with the most competitive and entertaining late model racing in the country.”
Sunoco Race Fuels also recently introduced DXP fuel, providing power and durability over a long season of racing. DXP fueled reigning Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series champion Hudson O’Neal.
“Sunoco Race Fuels is one of the longest partnerships we have going with the series at 19 years. We are very grateful for their continued partnership and their friendship,” noted Wayne Castleberry, Corporate Sales, and Marketing for Lucas Oil Motorsports. “We look forward to continuing their official fuel partnership.”
The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series season begins Jan. 24-27 with the kickoff to Georgia-Florida Speedweeks at Golden Isles Speedway in Brunswick, Ga.
