Phil’s Heating & Air Backing Van Alst In Bristol NXS Race

ANDERSON, Ind. — Greg Van Alst announced the expansion of his partnership with Tri-Cities HVAC company Phil’s Heating and Air Thursday morning.
Phil’s Heating and Air will be the primary partner on the No. 35 Chevrolet for Joey Gase Motorsports with Scott Osteen in Saturday’s SciAps 300 at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway.
It marks a significant step up for both parties, as they venture together into the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
Phil’s Heating and Air partnered with the Anderson, Ind., driver last fall in Van Alst’s most recent ARCA Menards Series start to date, which also came at the high-banked concrete half mile.
Van Alst, a former ARCA Menards Series winner, is poised to continue his next step with a local company on the hood, knowing the return on investment will go far beyond his result at the checkered flag.
“We’re not just here to compete — we’re here to represent our partners with pride and show that even small teams can deliver big results,” said Van Alst. “I’m especially proud to expand this partnership at Bristol Motor Speedway — it’s a legendary track, and there’s no better place to take this next step together.”
The president of Phil’s Heating and Air, Phillip Allen, is excited about his company being in the national spotlight as well as the driver representing his family’s business of more than 30 years serving the Tri-Cities area.
Allen’s testimony is one of many small businesses who find a successful partnership in the premier divisions of NASCAR.
“It's always exciting when NASCAR comes to town, but it's even better to see my little HVAC company get national attention,” Allen said. “Greg is great to work with. We are excited about the partnership and looking forward to the attention it brings to Phil's Heating and Air.
“We love the idea of bringing customers to the race to showcase Greg and the best-looking race car on the track.”
For Allen, the partnership this weekend runs deeper than brand visibility— it honors a personal legacy. Supporting NASCAR and community events is his way of carrying forward his father’s name.
"I started Phil’s Heating and Air in Tennessee in honor of my dad, who tragically took his own life when I was just a kid back in 1997,” he added. “Every day, my kids and I show up to work with the same dedication to five-star service that he brought to his own company, Phil’s HVAC in Michigan. We’re proud to support our local community — sponsoring champions on the high school cross country and track teams and backing a Tennessee MMA fighter who currently holds a state title.
“Now, we’re excited to be part of Greg’s journey toward becoming a NASCAR winner,” Allen noted. “Seeing him drive for Joey Gase Motorsports with Scott Osteen in that beautiful No. 35 Phil's Heating and Air Chevrolet Camaro makes it all even more special."
Van Alst, the 2023 ARCA Menards Series winner at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway, expressed his enjoyment of the iconic track nestled in Thunder Valley.
“Bristol is one of my favorite tracks,” said Van Alst. “I finished fifth in an ARCA race there in 2023, and I just love the thrill the track provides. I’m looking forward to getting back behind the wheel of the No. 35 Phil's Heating and Air Chevrolet Camaro and delivering a strong, productive finish.”
Van Alst’s other ARCA Menards Series achievements include five top-five and 26 top-10 finishes over a four-year span. His journey in the Xfinity Series kicked off with two starts at Atlanta (Ga.) Motor Speedway and New Hampshire (N.H.) Motor Speedway for Alpha Prime Racing in 2023 after his major Daytona triumph in ARCA.
He doubled down in 2024 with five starts with SS Green Light Racing in the latter part of the Xfinity Series season, one of which included a start at Bristol in the No. 07 CB Fabricating Ford Mustang.
Van Alst is currently in a part-time effort with Joey Gase Motorsports with Scott Osteen in the No. 35 Chevrolet, with crew chief Scott Eggleston atop the war wagon.
Broadcast coverage of the SciAps 300 at the The Last Great Colosseum is scheduled for Saturday, April 12 at 5 p.m. ET, live on The CW, the Performance Racing Network, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.
