Brenden Queen Making Truck Debut With TRICON
MOORESVILLE, N.C. – One of late model racing’s rising stars will get a chance to appear on the national scene in May at historic North Wilkesboro Speedway.
TRICON Garage will field multi-time zMAX CARS Late Model Stock Tour winner Brenden “Butterbean” Queen in the No. 1 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro for his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut.
Queen will join full-time teammates Dean Thompson, Corey Heim, Tanner Gray, and Taylor Gray as one of five TRICON entries for the Wright Brand 250 at the five-eighths-mile paved oval.
“I have been dreaming of this since I started racing go karts at six years old,” said Queen, a 26-year-old native of Chesapeake, Va. “It’s an honor to have the opportunity to team up with TRICON and Toyota to make my Truck Series debut at the track that put my name on the map last year.”
While Queen has etched his name into short-track racing annals as a winner of some of the most prestigious late model stock car events in the Southeast, his breakout season came last year in CARS Tour action.
Driving his family-owned No. 03 late model, Queen earned four victories, 12 top-five, and 15 top-10 finishes in 16 races en route to a runner-up finish in the point standings. He also claimed six poles.
Outside of the CARS Tour, Queen is a two-time winner of Langley Speedway’s Hampton Heat 200, including last year’s running.
He’s also won the Battle of the Stars at New River All-American Speedway in Jacksonville, N.C.; the South Carolina 400 at Florence (S.C.) Motor Speedway; and the Thanksgiving Classic at Southern National Motorsports Park in Kenly, N.C.
Queen’s No. 1 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro will be sponsored by longtime partner Best Repair Co., a full-service mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance provider based in Norfolk, Virigina.
Leith Cars, another company that has been with Queen for much of his career, will serve as an associate sponsor of his North Wilkesboro effort.
Coverage of the Wright Brand 250 from North Wilkesboro Speedway airs May 18 at 1:30 p.m. ET, live on FS1, the Motor Racing Network, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.
