Kaden Honeycutt Finishes 3rd at Phoenix — Capping a Season of Grit, Growth, and Family Sacrifice
PHOENIX, AZ (November 1, 2025) — Under the lights at Phoenix Raceway, Kaden Honeycutt closed out the 2025 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season with the drive of his life — finishing 3rd in the race and 3rd in the championship standings during his first-ever Championship 4 appearance.
The 22-year-old Texan qualified 5th, then battled through all three stages with skill and composure, finishing 7th in Stage One, 4th in Stage Two, and 3rd at the checkered flag in the No. 52 Halmar-Friesen Racing Toyota Tundra.
From Setback to Spotlight
Midway through the 2025 season, Honeycutt’s path took an unexpected turn when he was released by Niece Motorsports. After a one-race stint with Young’s Motorsports, opportunity came knocking from Stewart Friesen, who offered him a shot in the Halmar-Friesen Racing entry.
That chance reignited his season — and his career. Honeycutt made the most of it, earning consistent finishes and fighting his way into the Championship 4 via tiebreaker after an emotional run at Martinsville Speedway.
“This team gave me a second chance, and we made the most of it,” Honeycutt said. “To end this season standing on the championship podium after where we were just a few months ago — that’s something I’ll never forget.”
A Journey Forged in Faith, Family, and Sacrifice
Behind every lap, every late-night engine change, and every pit stop is a story that begins long before the cameras ever roll.
Kaden’s father, Kirby Honeycutt, was a racer himself — a competitor who knew both the thrill of speed and the grind it takes to keep chasing it. When his son showed an early love for the sport, Kirby didn’t hesitate. He handed down more than advice; he handed down a lifestyle.
The Honeycutt family turned their garage in Willow Park, Texas, into their own race shop — where Kirby wrenched late into the night, building and maintaining Kaden’s cars by hand. He taught his son not only how to drive but how to feel a race car — the sounds, the vibrations, the imperfections that can make or break a run.
Money was tight, but faith and determination never wavered. While Kirby built and tuned, Kristy managed the endless logistics of travel, meals, and schedules. Weekends meant long drives, trailer repairs, and fast food dinners eaten under the glow of a gas station canopy. Every race was a family event — a team of three against the odds.
“We didn’t always have the newest equipment or the biggest hauler,” Kaden said. “But we had heart. My dad worked tirelessly in that garage, my mom kept us all moving, and together we found a way. Every bit of success I’ve had started there.”
From Bandoleros at age nine to INEX Legend Cars, Pro Trucks, and Late Models, the Honeycutts built Kaden’s career from the ground up. At just 15, he made his first ARCA Menards Series start, and in 2024, he captured one of short-track racing’s most prestigious victories — the Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway. That win, born of years of sacrifice and family faith, opened the door to NASCAR’s national stage.
And as Kaden continues to climb, the values his parents instilled remain his foundation. This year, he took that next step personally — marrying his longtime sweetheart Jessica earlier in 2025, a moment that brought his family’s story full circle. Built on love, loyalty, and faith, the Honeycutts’ journey has come to represent more than racing — it’s the story of a family united by purpose.
A Star on the Rise
Known for his race intelligence and clean, calculated driving, Honeycutt has earned respect throughout the NASCAR garage for his maturity, humility, and relentless work ethic.
“He’s one of the most naturally gifted young drivers in our sport,” said team owner Stewart Friesen. “Kaden didn’t just fill a seat — he elevated the entire program.”
His Phoenix performance — steady, mistake-free, and determined — served as the perfect reflection of the driver he’s become and the family foundation that shaped him.
Looking Ahead
Honeycutt’s 2025 campaign stands as a testament to perseverance — a season that began in uncertainty and ended with validation. From his father’s garage to NASCAR’s grandest stage, every step was earned through sweat, sacrifice, and unwavering belief.
“We came here to win it the right way — no wrecks, no shortcuts,” Honeycutt said. “We wanted to earn it with respect, and I think we did that. This is just the beginning.”
With the momentum of a top-three championship finish and the support of his family, his team, and his new wife, Kaden Honeycutt enters 2026 as one of NASCAR’s brightest young stars — grounded, grateful, and just getting started.
